Moldova IBAN Format
24-character IBAN · MDL Moldovan Leu
A Moldova IBAN is 24 characters long and always begins with the country code MD, followed by two check digits. The next 2 characters are the Bank Code. The remaining 18 characters identify the individual account number. The Moldova IBAN uses the MDL (Moldovan Leu) and is not part of the SEPA zone, so international transfer fees and timelines apply.

Pattern validates length, country code, check digit positions, and field character types. Does not verify the MOD-97 checksum (use the validator above for full validation).
$iban = strtoupper(str_replace(' ', '', $input));
if (!preg_match('/^MD\\d{2}[A-Z0-9]{2}[A-Z0-9]{18}$/', $iban)) {
// Invalid Moldova IBAN format
}
const iban = input.replace(/\s+/g, '').toUpperCase();
const pattern = /^MD\d{2}[A-Z0-9]{2}[A-Z0-9]{18}$/;
if (!pattern.test(iban)) {
// Invalid Moldova IBAN format
}
import re
iban = input_str.replace(' ', '').upper()
pattern = r'^MD\d{2}[A-Z0-9]{2}[A-Z0-9]{18}$'
if not re.fullmatch(pattern, iban):
# Invalid Moldova IBAN format
