Switzerland and SEPA
Despite not being in the EU, Switzerland is a SEPA member. Swiss IBANs are fully accepted for SEPA euro transfers. Swiss francs (CHF) are not covered by SEPA — only euro-denominated transactions benefit from SEPA's simplified rules.
Swiss Bank Clearing Numbers
UBS uses clearing number 00230; Credit Suisse (now part of UBS) used 04835; PostFinance uses 09000. These 5-digit codes appear in positions 5–9 of any Swiss IBAN.
