Total length: 22 characters. The BBAN is BLZ (8 digits) + Kontonummer (10 digits, zero-padded left). Check digits are calculated using ISO 7064 MOD-97-10.
Important: Germany has been fully IBAN-based since February 2014. All German domestic transfers use IBAN only. If you still have a BLZ + Kontonummer on older documents, use this tool to convert to the current IBAN format before initiating a transfer.
